With our ceramic implant system, we want to revolutionize the market of dental implants. We have succeeded. The innovation: ZV3 has developed the world's first 1- and 2-piece all-ceramic implants of zirconium with unique high surface roughness (Ra = approx. 7 microns / Rz = approx. 40 microns). Our unique, innovative manufacturing process for all-ceramic implants of zirconium is patented and has been proven in the best possible way both by patients and implant dentists.
We achieve the excellent surface roughness, which does not exist in this quality with conventional ceramic implants, with a special process. Finishing (grinding or preparing) the implant is not necessary. And thus the risk of permanently damaging the ceramic (micro-cracks). These micro-cracks can lead to fracture of the implant. High surface roughness leads to rapid osseointegration (incorporation of the implant with the jawbone) analogous to titanium implants -a result that could be achieved only to an unsatisfactory extent with existing ceramic implants. This has always been considered a great disadvantage for conventional ceramic implants, because the loss rates are comparatively high.
In the field of all-ceramic implants of zirconium we are the only company enabling an individual manufacture -that is an exact adaptation to the initial situation of the patient. Conventional ceramic implants are currently available only as a standard version and often have to be reworked. This requires more time and may cause the microcracks just mentioned. Our 2-piece all-ceramic implants have another important advantage: The connection between the implant and the abutment in 2-piece ZV3 implants is not made at the level of the bone, but at gingival level. Thus, in 2-piece ZV3 implants, the formation of a bacteria-leaking gap between implant and abutment is ruled out. This way a possibility of infection and associated potential adverse effects for the patient (e.g., bone loss) can be avoided.
With our system, the 2-piece implants are placed isogingivally. After healing -denudation not required- only a post and core is attached as partial abutment. The future crown covers the adhesive joint. A gap that occurs in classic systems, leads almost always to bacterial colonization. Conclusion: Without gap, less paropathogene germs. This was demonstrated in a retrospective study.
The reasons for the use of ZV3 all-ceramic implants compared with the widely used titanium implants are evident: From an aesthetic point of view only an individual all-ceramic implant enables visually flawless results. Neither does dark titanium shimmer through the gum, nor does a denudation lead to exposure of the implant edges and thus unsightly metal margins at the gums. This is supported by the ability to provide our implants with an individual garland to achieve a perfect cosmetic result.
In addition, our implants are not suffering from the negative effects of titanium particle intolerance, which occurs in at least 20-40% of the population and can be detected by a blood test. Basically, the trend in patients has been to generally have as little metal as possible in the body -regardless of personal tolerance.
Whether to use 1- or 2-piece (standard or custom) ZV3 all-ceramic implants of zirconium in patients, is at the discretion of the implantologist. This decision is based on both the patient-specific situation as well as your own preferences.
